Amanda is an accomplished performer with a strong background in acting, singing and puppetry. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Amanda is an international actor based in Vancouver, Canada.
Amanda's love of performing began at an early age when she secured a leading role in the year 5/6 musical The Little Mermaid. A singing teacher in the audience saw her potential, contacted her parents and Amanda commenced training to harness this talent. With seventeen years of singing training behind her she has had the pleasure of training with well respected teachers Rob Martin and Dallas Watts with a focus on musical theatre, classical, contemporary and jazz. After completing her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Media and Cultural Studies (Radio Documentary & Vocal Pedagogy) in 2010 at Macquarie University she embarked on her professional acting career. This took her to New York in 2011 where she completed the Musical Theatre Workshop Summer Program at Circle in the Square Theatre School, the only Broadway theatre school affiliated with a Broadway stage. She learnt from well respected teachers such as Alan Langdon, Kimberly Vaughn and Ken Schatz. On her return from New York, she had the pleasure of originating roles in three world premieres: Lisa in You're Tearing Me Apartment: The Roomsical, Dorothy in The Golden Girls Puppet Tribute Show and Mary in the Star Child. She's no stranger to the festival circuit having performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival and Vancouver Fringe Festival. In 2017 she made her festival debut at the Vancouver International Improv Festival as part of the Vancouver Ensemble and Talk Felty To Me. Described by her peers as a consummate professional and an asset to any production, A character actor, Amanda is hard working, passionate, grounded and provides valuable insights to the characters she plays. Amanda has trained with Jeb Beach and Wesley Salter of Jeb Beach and Associates and Nelson Wong at Haven Studio. She has also learnt from acclaimed voice over artists Lee Tockar and Brian Dobson and Ocean Studios VO Director Karl Willems. She is a member of improv group, The Radical and has performed with Sin Peaks: the improvised soap opera, Terry Shane Murder Mysteries for Smoking Gun Entertainment and VFS Sketch Company. Amanda worked on Steven Speilberg's Ready Player One, Marvel's Avengers: Infinity Wars, Black Widow and Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings and Netflix's Lost In Space as Production Support.
